Snail Mail, the rock project created by Lindsey Jordan, is releasing its sophomore Valentine on November 5. That’s next week, man! She’s already shared a couple singles including the title track and “Ben Franklin.” Today, we get another new song called “Madonna.” Jordan has also shared a live performance of the new track, which was recorded at the Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington, New York.

“Our love’s a sickness baby / I’m holding on tight, I don’t know why,” Jordan sings during the bridge, her voice like a lint roller of imperfections clinging to breathy intonations and subtle cracks. Her slight vocal breaks grippingly coincide with her struggle to dismantle an idolized lover. “I am excited to share this one,” Jordan said about the single. “In summation it’s about why love can’t exist between a person and a concept of a person. Remove the pedestal and you might realize there was never anything there at all.”
