Back in October, LA-via-North-Carolina songwriter Jordan Hawkins introduced himself with his debut EP Heart Won’t Stop, a tight collection of laid back, smooth, and occasionally funky tracks with EarthGang making an appearance on the upbeat standout “Honey.” Arguably the EP’s biggest earworm, though, arrives immediately before that track when the spacious “Slow Down” leads into its chorus marked by Hawkins’ soaring vocals.

Hawkins brought this track up to a rooftop in West Hollywood where he performed a stripped down version of the track for his “Neighborhoods” set. Even without the soothing vocal harmonies and ripping guitar solo that embellish the recorded version, the performance maintains the power of the original—although the visual backdrop of a golden-hour sunset warming the LA skyline certainly helps.
