Nigerian-born songwriter Kah-Lo has been on the alternative dance scene for a few years now, having racked up guest spots on tracks by the likes of Diplo, Mr. Eazi, and Idris Elba, but last year finally saw the release of her debut project, The Arrival. The short-but-memorable EP’s final track “Commandments” landed itself on the 2022 FIFA soundtrack, while the success of the record as a whole earned Kah-Lo a slot on the lineup for Arlington, Texas’ So What Music Festival, scheduled for the weekend of May 27.

In the meantime, Kah-Lo recently took to a rooftop in her current home of Brooklyn, New York to perform “Commandments” and another track from the Arrival EP, “Fire,” for her “Neighborhoods” session. Letting the lyrics from the familiar instrumentals flow freely (fueled by an iced coffee at hand), watch Kah-Lo’s performance below.
