Kicking off FLOOD’s 2015 curated series with Red Bull Sound Select this week was a groove-filled evening featuring Tom Krell (a.k.a. How to Dress Well) at The Sayers Club in Hollywood. Burger trio (and excellently named) Cherry Glazerr hosted the night and spent some time behind the turntables, while RBSS band (and Los Angeles natives) synth-duo SWIMM opened the evening with a short and sweet set before How To Dress Well took the stage. The smooth and seductive singer-songwriter performed an excellent set spanning his discography to a completely full house. Krell charmed the enthusiastic audience with unique performances of tracks like “Repeat Pleasure” and “Face Again.” Beyond his assured and smooth crooning, Krell expertly modeled some eye-catching fashion in the form of his shorts—a combo of gym wear under a fashionable curtain (his own creation, of course).
Lucky fans got into the event for only $3 (thanks to a clutch RSVP) and squished together with their Red Bull cocktails to get a great spot for a one-of-a-kind night of music. Stay tuned for more Red Bull Sound Select shows, as well as announcements of future FLOOD-curated presentations.
