Back in December we debuted the music video for the then-brand-new Shout Out Louds single “High as a Kite,” which followed news of the Swedish indie rockers’ sixth studio album, House. With that record finally arriving this Friday, we get to debut another video of the group performing the track, which strips the full-band recording down to an acoustic solo set and repositions frontman Adam Olenius from a drab, claustrophobic room to a balcony overlooking the scenic Alps.
For their “Neighborhoods” set, bassist (and filmmaker) Ted Malmros shot footage of Olenius playing the single while visiting a Swiss Alpine village. “The sun has been absent back home in Stockholm for some time now, so while taking a trip down to the Swiss Alps we shot ‘High as a Kite’ with Adam having the amazing snowy mountains in the background,” the group shares. “The little town is called Verbier, and it's known for jet sets and ski bums. We fit right in! Plus, Sweden and Switzerland often get mixed up by non-Europeans, so this worked out well."
Check out the performance below.
