Last year, boundary-less hardcore band Turnstile released their incredible album GLOW ON. One of the album's highlights was the reverby single "Underwater Boi," which now has a new music video. The animated visual was directed and edited by the band’s own Daniel Fang and created within the world of the 2003 MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) Second Life.
In the visual, we're taken to a utopia of sorts. There's pink orbs floating out of the ground, a full moon hangs bright-eyed in a blue sky, and plenty of butterflies and a majestical moose make appearances. And if the setting wasn't already otherworldly, the video progressively gets trippier—our protagonist, Boi, sees a version of himself that he begins chasing, until, well, he has to go underwater. Later, there's scenes of dancing and levitating. He's got a long way to go, but he sure is having fun.
Later this month Turnstile will embark on a sold-out North American headlining tour featuring support from Citizen, Ceremony, Ekulu, Truth Cult, and Coco & Clair Clair. Find more information and tour dates here.
