Yves Tumor, one of the moment's most exciting living artists, has shared a video for their track "Secrecy Is Incredibly Important to the Both of Them" from their 2021 EP The Asymptotical World. At this point, any time Yves releases something new it garners an immediate stop-everything-I'm-doing response. And today, with this Jordan Hemingway–directed video, it's no different.
The visual is cinematic chaos: Yves takes on the roles of protagonist and antagonist as the clip exhibits equal amounts of action, blood, and glamour. One moment Yves is held captive, then bleeding and shooting at an unknown target in a dilapidated apartment. Later, they're lounging in a tanning bed, smoking cigarettes in loud makeup, thrashing in a night club, and in a car with some flashy and bizarre characters. It makes no sense and total sense at the same time—that's the powerful disorder of Yves Tumor.
