Doss is a Texas-born and NY-based artist who makes maximalist electronic music. The bass is heavy, the synth shuffles are like blasts of light, and her lyrics are visceral and forward atop her fizzing production. Her skill for captivating rhythm and expansive sound has made her a curious artist to watch. She shared a self-titled EP in 2014 and then recently returned with a series of singles that each build their own affecting worlds.

Today, Doss has shared her first new music of 2022 with the single "Jumpin'." Continuing her stride of exuberant releases, we're greeted with a soulful vocal echo that's soon paired with a taut beat. The track steadily builds upon itself with pressing hi-hats and crowd-pumping claps. Then, everything falls away and a heavy bass like a bouncing medicine ball takes the lead. "What's the move / Think somebody knows a place?" she says in a haunting voice as we follow Doss into an unknown night of ecstasy.

“‘Jumpin’ is about letting go, getting lost, and the out-of-sequence memories of wobbling lights and vibrating floors going by like a slow-motion montage,” Doss said. “It’s going wherever the night takes you and being up for anything.”
