Things are moving pretty fast for No Swoon, the dream-pop duo of Tasha Abott and Zack Nestel-Patt—the pair announced their sophomore album together entitled Take Your Time last month, which arrives on the heels of their cross-country move from New York to LA. But with the growing amount of buzz they’re riding toward the new record’s April 8 release date, they’re clearly still invested in the long journey that’s brought them to this present moment. With mixing engineer Chris Coady onboard for this LP, the dreamy overtones of Beach House and Amen Dunes for whom he’s worked in the past certainly come through here, painting a similarly woozy sense of nostalgia on the band’s latest single, “Wait to See.”

“This song is about growing up,” Abott shares. “We’re talking to our younger selves who had very specific dreams and ideas of how our lives would pan out. But as we all know, the hopes and dreams we had at 15 are usually not our realities when we grow up. We could look back and be upset that we didn’t become who we had hoped to be, or we could relish the new ideas and new dreams, and be OK with where we are. This song is about how looking back now, you can see the path that led to where we are now and how we wish we could tell our younger selves to be kind to who we will grow up to be.”

The track coasts on a warm synth line and minimal percussion, with Abott’s gentle vocals recalling a past life over top. Check out the lyric video for the single below—and if you’re in LA, catch the band’s headlining set at The Echo on April 18. More info here.
