Legend has it that the London faction of Jack White’s Third Man Records inked a deal with their first artist as quickly as it took that band to rip through a set of their blistering rock-and-roll songs. The result of this exciting alliance is the Songs of Love EP, a new record arriving this Friday from London’s Island of Love through their new label, and the latest sample of this release arrives today via the power-pop ballad “At Home,” which integrates the heavy muscle of garage punk.

In under two minutes, the mononymous four-piece—Karim, Linus, Daniel and Jimmy—crank out an energetic elegy for the early days of pandemic-induced quarantine. “‘At Home’ was inspired by two things: being sent home from work at the start of the pandemic and a conversation with Karim about how there aren’t enough indie tunes with D-beats,” Linus shares. “If either of those sound familiar to you, then this should be right up your alley.”

Along with the track comes a vibrant video that aggressively counters the images of quarantine the lyrics conjure, featuring fast-cut clips of live performances, sweaty dance clubs, and some surreal animation. Check it out below.
