Since 2008, Mike Deni has lead the San Francisco group Geographer in an exploration of sonic subtlety large enough to be fit for an arena. After two albums and a hype-train of increasing speed, Deni is back with a third full-length, Ghost Modern, for which the band has already shared the tracks “I’m Ready” and “Need.”
Ahead of that upcoming album’s March 24 release date, we now have “The Guest,” an indie-parlor track that starts off with a humble arrangement, and then develops into a small-scale symphony. It’s a good pick-me-up.
