It’s been five years since Kendrick Lamar’s released an album—a gulf of time that’s felt even longer between the pandemic’s stretching of time and the constant reminders across social media that there hasn’t been a new Kendrick Lamar album in five years. After launching the mysterious site oklama last year and teasing his “final TDE album,” today sees a second post on the site: a press release from pgLang (the company Lamar launched with Dave Free at the beginning of the pandemic) revealing the title Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers and the release date May 13.

While we’re less than a month away from that date, there’s no further details (or music) from the release. But as the statement notes, “All factual information for this release will come directly from this source only”—so keep your eyes on the eerily minimalist website in the meantime.
