Last month, Divino Niño revealed their plans to transcend their terrestrial forms with the release of their latest record, Last Spa on Earth. Continuing to infuse the various sounds of their rich Chicago scene with the Latin trappings of their native Bogotá, the ensemble pushed the limits of their creativity even further with the record’s first single “Tu Tonto,” while the latest cut “Nos Soltamos” dives even further into the blissed-out sounds of psych and R&B while harnessing the undeniable catchiness of pop music.
Teaming up with Whitney’s Will Miller and Twin Peaks’ Colin Croom on the track, the song harkens back to the pre-album loosie “Drive” as it describes the release of getting behind the wheel of a car in the midst of quarantine. “I had intense pent-up energy in my body and the act of driving felt like a spiritual way of releasing my demons, as if I was letting go of all my burdens as the wheels rolled fast on the pavement,” vocalist/guitarist Camilo Medina shares. “This song is really about how important it is to unload all you carry around. Not letting go will slow us down and keep us from living truthful lives.”
The song arrives with a visual that sees the band glammed up and turning a spacious warehouse venue into an energetic dance situation, with directors Alec Basse and Max Moore documenting the story through the lens of a pleasant acid trip.
