Back in 2012 when Massachusetts-bred punks No Trigger released their last LP, tattoos were still considered fairly edgy. But now that full-body ink and the occasional face tat are a common sight outside of gossip columns and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! exhibits, the band brings up an interesting point: In 2022, is it edgier to have no tattoos?

“No Tattoos” is the title of their new single and first preview of their upcoming return to the feature-length form, Dr. Album, with the quick-and-catchy anthem dedicated to the freaks of nature among us who have somehow avoided inking our skin our whole lives. “Almost everyone has tattoos now, so this song is for the holdouts,” the band shares. “For the freaks! For us! We might not be cool, but at least we’re going to heaven, unlike the rest of you.”

Along with the confident, raging single, the band is also sharing a visual that may play into the insecurity of their bravely tat-less epidermi among (exaggeratedly) younger punk crowds. Check it out below, and pre-order Dr. Album ahead of its August 26 release date here.
