It was a busy period for music festivals across the country last weekend, with FLOOD photographers capturing highlights coast to coast, from Primavera Sound in Los Angeles to Sea.Hear.Now in Asbury Park. Meanwhile, Riot Fest returned to Chicago's Douglas Park for three stacked days of punk and alternative greats past and present, with headliners including The Original Misfits, Nine Inch Nails, and My Chemical Romance, and nearly 100 other artists across multiple genres (while remaining heavy on the punk and post-Warped Tour variety). Photographer Timothy Hiatt was backstage throughout the weekend capturing intimate portraits for FLOOD, from upstarts The LInda Lindas to alt-veterans The Joy Formidable to reunited punk icons Lunachicks. "Everyone was so great to work with," remarked Hiatt about the sessions. "Usually when doing something like this, there'll be some artists that come in and act like, 'Oh, we gotta do this now? OK, let's get it over with,' but not this year."
