Christian Lee Hutson’s been pretty busy since releasing his album Quitters back in March. The record—co-produced by friends and collaborators Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst—earned him a spot on CBS Saturday Morning where he performed a few songs for his TV debut before launching a headlining tour that was followed by a string of opening slots for Bridgers.
Yet somewhere in there he found the time to stop in Pioneertown, California to perform a “Neighborhoods” session alongside one of his many collaborators on Quitters, Great Grandpa vocalist Al Menne. Hutson plays through album cuts “Age Difference” and “Rubberneckers”—which he’d also previously played on CBS Saturday Morning—joined by Menne’s soft vocals while the town’s familiar San Bernardino desert looms in the background.
