In case you haven’t seen Halloween (1978), Halloween (2007), or Halloween (2018), LA punk quartet Slaughterhouse are here to catch you up to speed on the horror franchise’s major plotline. Their new single “Halloween,” from their forthcoming EP Halloween, arriving on the weekend of—you guessed it—Halloween, is a dizzying swirl of eerie post-punk riffs and lyrics recounting the familiar biography of one Michael Myers.

“This is a song [bassist Eddie Cairns] has been itching to write for a very long time,” the band shares. “Wanting to retell the story of an iconic horror film character through song, it only seemed fitting to create an experience that takes you on an adventure itself. We're very excited to be able to have a Halloween anthem for everyone's favorite holiday.”

The group’s Halloween EP is slated for release on October 28—preview the title track below, and pre-order the record here. You can also find their upcoming SoCal tour dates playing alongside Alkaline Trio, Joyce Manor, and more on their Bandcamp page.
