NYC-based musician MIKE is releasing his latest album Beware of the Monkey on December 21 via his label 10K. The project takes its name from Chinese astrology, inspired by the rapper-producer's own zodiac sign, the tiger, and the prophecy that this year would be difficult. “In scary movies, you hear the monkey’s voice but you don’t really see the monkey,” he explained in reference to the title. “It’s hiding in the trees or circling around you.”
The first peek at the project came through last month's single "nuthin i can do is wrng," and today he's shared the second single called "What Do I Do?" The self-produced song rounds up shoegaze synths, slow-beating drums, and reflections on doubt and moving forward.
The song comes with a video by Xin Wang that sees MIKE walking along the Maryland coast, which you can watch below. MIKE also announced the Ipari Park Tour with 454 and Slauson Malone—find those upcoming dates beneath the video.
