Even without the playful Eliot Lee–directed visual it arrives with, the new K.Flay single clearly embodies the ecstasy of getting back into the swing of things after hitting a major roadblock in life that threw things off course. “It’s like you’ve been waiting all your life to get back to that place and it feels so, so, so good when you do get there,” she shares of the feeling that inspired “It’s Been So Long,” an upbeat track that would feel club-ready if its lyrics didn’t so emphatically make the case for its individualist spirit.

Yet the video takes things a step further, with K.Flay illustrating that sense of relief in the most cathartic way imaginable: by performing a solo karaoke set and replicating the freewheeling and totally chaotic movements of those massive car dealership wind dancers. “We really wanted to capture a feeling of joy, of freedom, and unselfconsciousness,” she adds of the visual. “The way you dance when you’re by yourself. The way you feel when you look in the mirror and think, ‘Damn, I look good!’ The wind dancers are just like the epitome of weirdness and wild abandon.”

Check out all that weirdness and wild abandon below.
