In terms of Christmas music, of course, we can always rely on Mariah Carey to come around and haunt us at every holiday party, convenience store, and radio station once Halloween passes (even if she isn't officially the Queen of the holiday). But there's another Christmas music tradition that's a little more nuanced: For the past several years, Phoebe Bridgers has shared a new holiday cover song for us to enjoy. This year is no different.
Today, Bridgers released a cover of The Handsome Family’s “So Much Wine." All proceeds from the track go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, which is one of the few federally qualified health centers with providers who specialize in substance abuse treatment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and people living with HIV.
Previously, Bridgers shared covers of Tom Waits' “Day After Tomorrow,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” Merle Haggard’s “If We Make It Through December,” Simon & Garfunkel's “‘7 O’Clock News/Silent Night” with Fiona Apple and The National‘s Matt Berninger, and McCarthy Trenching’s “Christmas Song” with Jackson Browne.
