Brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez are among the latest crop of talent making Easy Eye Sound—the Nashville-based label minted by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach in 2017—a go-to source for a diverse range of sounds spanning folk, gospel, and surf rock. As Hermanos Gutiérrez, the duo unleashed their first record for the label with El Bueno y el Malo back in October, with the album exploring ambient Americana and Mexican folk sounds via their unique take on dreamy instrumental soundscapes that sand the edges off gritty Spaghetti Western soundtracks.

The pair are closing out the year by sharing a live performance video of the album cut “Thunderbird,” which sees the brothers picking through the soothing ballad at the appropriately Western-esque Armistead Farms in Mesa, Arizona. “We remember recording ‘Thunderbird’ with Dan at Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville,” they share. “We were mesmerized by the depth of the song and it was a crucial moment for us to feel that being part of Easy Eye Sound is the best thing that could have ever [happened] to us.”
