mmeadows is the power duo of Kristin Slipp and Cole Kamen-Green that combines the art-pop influence of the former’s involvement in the current iteration of Dirty Projectors with the glossy sheen of the latter’s collaborative work with marquee-name pop stars such as Beyoncé and Harry Styles. As we continue to anticipate their debut album, the pair have been sharing a steady stream of singles over the years, each one confirming the release as something to keep an eye out for.

In the meantime, Slipp and Kamen-Green braved the near-freezing Manhattan temperatures recently to record a “Neighborhoods” session for us on a rooftop balcony a block from Times Square. Illuminated in eerie red lighting, the pair launch into their single “You Should Know by Now”—Slipp on vocals, Kamen-Green keeping busy by looping Moog, electronic drumbeats, and other instruments—after clinking travel mugs of tea, with an impassioned cover of Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” to follow. Check it out below.
