Coming off a year of incredible guest spots, Danny Brown is jump-starting 2023 this week with the one-two punch of teasing his full-length collaborative album alongside JPEGMAFIA with the single “Lean Beef Patty” and, today, hopping on a remix of Hannibal Buress’ 2022 single as Eshu Tune “Veneers” alongside longtime grillz posterboy Paul Wall. The remix comes with a music video that can best be described as a psychedelic trip to the dentist, wherein Buress, Brown, and Wall perform their verses in front of flashing images of teeth and, seemingly, within the mouth of a patient.

Lyrically, the remix follows suit with the original track as well as Eshu Tune’s debut single “Knee Brace,” both of which comically latch onto the health-conscious—if not geriatric—elements of rap culture rather than its flashy veneer. “When I made ‘Knee Brace,’ I thought I wasn’t capable of making anything more powerful, but then we made the remix to ‘Veneers,’” Buress shares. “Danny’s verse made me step my bars up for real because I was lollygagging on the original.”
