Kari Faux is working on something big. But in the meantime, she's shared a couple of tastes of what's to come—first with the "Me First," released earlier this year, and now "Turnin' Heads," which features Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. The new single opens with a thick bass line that flaunts itself like a brand new ride. Later, the beat is bolstered with an elegant piano melody and soft hi-hat triplets. "I just got paid today," Faux emphasizes in her opening verse. "Throw some bread off in my tank / Show off my paint today." It's a well-deserved boast, with Faux swankily reaping the benefits of her hard work.
"This song is a time machine that takes me back to growing up and living in the South," Faux said. "Just getting paid, hitting the town and seeing cars with candy paint and big rims and aspiring to have that one day for myself. It was an honor to have Big K.R.I.T. as a feature because he was one of the rappers that inspired me coming up and made me feel proud to be country."
