It’s been 30 years and Doggy has yet to go out of style. The career-making debut album from Snoop Dogg née Snoop Lion née Snoop Dogg changed the rap game forever when it dropped at the tail end of 1993, introducing both a new spin on West Coast G-funk and an unlikely public figure to later complement the cooking talents of Martha Stewart on cable TV.
In celebration of three decades of Doggystyle, the Hollywood Bowl has announced two nights devoted to gin, juice, and world-record-holding paradise cocktails. “Snoop Dogg & Friends: 30th Anniversary of Doggystyle and More” has been penciled in for the evenings of June 27 and 28 at the iconic LA venue, with Dr. Dre announced as the event’s producer, and Derrick Hodge slated to conduct The ReCollective Orchestra. The news comes with the indication that more guests will be announced closer to (or at) the event—in the meantime, grab tickets here.
