Alicia Bognanno—a.k.a. Bully—is releasing her new album Lucky for You on June 2 via Sub Pop. She's already released some killer singles, including "Lose You" with Soccer Mommy, "Days Move Slow," and "Hard to Love." Today, she's shared another called "Change Your Mind."
The new track contains the gripping yearning and vulnerability that Bognanno displays in all the tracks we've heard so far. "I’m not asking for a favor / I just want to be let in / All I wanted was to feel wanted," she sings. She captures the ache to further a connection with another and the frustration when that relationship hits an emotional standstill. "I don’t need another friend / And you might love me at my best but / At my worst you’re walking out / And I don’t know what I could say that / Won’t set fire to this drought." Her vocals are flammable, waiting for any chemical reaction to take place as a way to move forward.
