Sharon Van Etten has shared a new single entitled “Quiet Eyes,” which will be featured on the soundtrack for Celine Song’s new A24 film Past Lives. Written and performed alongside Zachary Dawes (of Mini Mansions and The Last Shadow Puppets), the cavernous track is buoyed by the hollow tone of clean drum clicks and string swells that give the song its appropriately cinematic feel. Piano notes mirror the melody, providing a perfect accent to Van Etten’s always-stunning voice. The accompanying visual features intimate moments from the film.
The Past Lives soundtrack features a score by Grizzly Bear’s Daniel Rossen and Christopher Bear. The full soundtrack arrives June 9 via A24 Music, and the film is in theaters now. Check out the video for “Quiet Eyes” below, or stream the track here.
