East Cleveland’s Kipp Stone has returned with a new single and video entitled “18 the Hard Way.” The track follows “Vanderhall Venice,” both of which will be featured on Stone’s new LP, 66689 BLVD Prequel. The project is set to arrive on September 15 via Closed Sessions.

On the new self-produced track, Stone showcases his ability to blend rapid-fire verses with a catchy hook, spitting during the chorus: “18 the hard way, triple six, 89, what would God say?” Regarding the track, Stone says, “I just want it to be known that aside from the introspective music that I love to make—and that is on this album—‘18 the Hard Way’ is different because I’m not proving that I can rap. I’m telling you I can really, really rap.“ He also adds that it’s one of the oldest songs included on the forthcoming release. “I knew that before I really dug in and got deep that I had to make a slap to brighten the album a little bit, and what better way to do it than just cutting loose and just sliding on a song.”

The accompanying video for the single is a gritty black-and-white flick that finds Kipp rapping on roofs and fire escapes and in abandoned warehouses. Check it out below, and pre-order 66689 BLVD Prequel here.
