This Saturday, the ongoing celebration of hip-hop’s 50th year of existence will continue in New York City with the unveiling of Beastie Boys Square: the city-sanctioned renaming of the intersection of Ludlow and Rivington Streets where the cover for the group’s classic 1989 LP Paul’s Boutique was shot. Surviving members Mike D and Ad-Rock will be in attendance at the two-hour event, which also promises “a special guest DJ set, A-1 Records & Beastie Boys pop up shops, live screen printing and more,” per an Instagram post.
The event runs from noon to 2 p.m. on NYC’s Lower East Side, where Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz will be joined by city council member Chris Marte. Find more info in the post below.
