Regardless of what generation you belong to, you probably have some memory of growing up watching brief infomercials for products you don’t entirely understand while viewing cartoons before school. Well, funny enough, now that you’re an adult many of those infomercials still fly over your head between their ambiguous ad-speak and the fact that they’re probably, in all honesty, nothing but a grift targeting any sucker enthralled enough with the vague promise of a better life that they immediately pound the 1-800 number into their landline.

Rather than just invoking this phenomenon for his latest single from the forthcoming Wild Nothing record, Hold, Jack Tatum brought the track’s subject matter to life. “Suburban Solutions,” which touches up the ethereal hold music for this type of advertised service while making it feel a little more cutting-edge than dated, arrives today paired with a music video co-directed by Tatum with Yumi Zouma’s Brian Burgess which familiarly replicates the aesthetic and inexplicable imagery of these commercials. The visual even features a (real) live phone number which allows you to hear more about their “life-changing offers” (their hold music sounds familiar…).

But wait, that’s not all! Tatum is also announcing a “Suburban Solutions” riesling in collaboration with Osmote Wines to come bundled with certain LP packages. Pre-order the record here before it arrives October 27 via Captured Tracks, and make sure to register a complaint on the Suburban Solutions toll-free number at 1-743-800-HOLD.
