Underground rap czar Quelle Chris has teamed up with Ol’ Burger Beats for a new single entitled “The Last of Us.”
The track will be featured on Ol’ Burger Beats’ forthcoming producer album, 74: Out of Time. The album will be released on February 16 via Coalmine Records.
On the track, Burger cues up a head-nodder of a beat, consisting of shuffling drums, a dusty horn sample, and floating synth chords. Quelle raps, “Young, dumb adults tryna’ get rich off written thoughts/ Beats knock plus the topics were hot.” As always, Chris looks back on the past and forward to the future with clever cultural references and emotionally-charged storytelling.
