It’s been four years since we’ve heard from the Boston-based duo Lilith, whose indie-pop debut Safer Off saw vocalist Hannah Liuzzo sounding off against friendships that no longer seemed to be pulling their weight. Four years and a move to the West Coast later and Liuzzo has returned with new music under the solo moniker Little Bit, with the dreamy “Long Drive” introducing the side-project (whose live band features members of LA scene staples Cheekface, Cowboy Boy, and Why Dogs Why) a few weeks back as existing in a similar vein to the hushed vocals and muted guitar-pop of IAN SWEET.

Today we’re getting a second single ahead of a forthcoming EP titled Talk a Blue Streak expected out later this year, with “Lying to You” wrestling with the same relational concepts covered on Safer Off. “[‘Lying to You’ is] a tongue-in-cheek reflection on the pitfalls of deception,” Liuzzo shares, “the lines that blur between reality and an invented reality that comes into focus when you’re too fluent in the language of white lies. Lying can feel like an easy escape, but when you run out of people to mislead, the practice surfaces as sneaky self-sabotage.”

The track feels like yet another postcard from the Pacific at sundown, with twanging guitar and barely discernible barroom piano complementing Liuzzo’s near-whispered vocals. Check it out below.
