It’s been nearly three years since former HOLYCHILD vocalist Elizabeth Nistico unveiled her new solo venture Revenge Wife, and she’s kept us hooked on her Italo-disco inspired synthpop sound ever since. Without a full-length to her name just yet (she notes to keep an eye out for one in 2024), Nistico has padded out a pair of EPs with a series of singles paired with self-directed videos which together thread an ongoing narrative across nearly a dozen installments.

The 11th episode of this series arrives today with the latest visual pairing with “Confessions of an Earth Angel,” Revenge Wife’s new single released last Friday. The track—written with the help of experimental pop musician Robert PM and directly inspired by Cascada’s “Everytime We Touch”—serves as a confessional of sorts, with Nistico sorting out internal dilemmas over a minimal Casiotone-esque beat. “It’s a conversation between my shadow-self and my ego-self and I constantly vacillate between understanding why I’m here and questioning everything I’m doing,” she shares.

Regarding the video—which she co-directed with Isabelle Abbitt—she adds that it should appeal equally to new and longtime listeners. “Not only does it stand alone as a little short film, but it also ties together a bunch of loose ends in the Revenge Wife saga. We’re now at the 11th video in my on-going series and I’ve been working on it for four years now and, yeah, maybe people haven’t widely recognized what I’m doing or maybe it’s too weird, but I am proud and this expression is mine!”

Check it out below, and expect Revenge Wife’s debut full-length some time next year.
