Tom Waits will co-host a special radio show with Iggy Pop during Iggy’s regular BBC Radio 6 Music slot at 8 a.m. PT on Sunday, December 3. The show, which will be accessible globally, will echo their famous joint appearance in Jim Jarmusch’s film Coffee and Cigarettes, which premiered 20 years ago this past September. According to a post on BBC Radio 6 Music’s Instagram, “The two-hour program will see the pair pump the Confidential Jukebox full of nickels and dimes and spin some of their favorite tracks to one another.”
According to a press release, the pair will share stories in between spinning records, such as how Waits once hitched a ride with “Nature Boy” composer Eden Ahbez, and how Iggy once came across Captain Beefheart eating breakfast in LA but was wise enough not to disturb him. Waits will also be promoting the reissue of his Island Records releases.
