Before Darker Waves washed up on the shores of Southern California with its eclectic blend of current and iconic bands spanning new wave and industrial sounds, Pasadena’s Cruel World Fest touched down in nearby Pasadena in 2022—two years after it was initially announced but rescheduled due to the pandemic. Returning for its third iteration next year, it was announced today that the one-day event will take place on May 11 at Pasadena’s Brookside at the Rose Bowl with Duran Duran set to headline.

That’s just one of many draws for the event, which will also feature sets from groundbreaking new wave and industrial acts such as Blondie, Soft Cell, The Jesus and Mary Chain, the newly banded duo of Budgie and Lol Tolhurst, Bauhaus offshoot Tones on Tail, as well as Gary Numan performing The Pleasure Principle and Ministry playing tracks from With Sympathy and Twitch. Additionally, Interpol will be drawing a younger generation of fans alongside TR/ST, The Faint, Model/Actriz, Body of Light, and ADULT.

See the full lineup below. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, December 8, at noon PT, but you can register for access to day passes now.
