After releasing their debut EP Welder in 2022, Minneapolis trio Prize Horse are announcing their first full-length today with Under Sound scheduled to drop on February 16 via Chicago’s New Morality Zine—a label specializing in the post-hardcore, emo, and shoegaze sounds Prize Horse teased on their EP. Produced by Gleemer’s Corey Coffman, the record will feature the band’s recent single “Your Time,” while today also sees the release of another new track titled “Further From My Start” which dabbles in the grungy, open-space sounds and moody lyrics familiar to the band’s discography before literally screeching to a halt in its final moments.

“‘Further From My Start’ was the last song we wrote, so it encompasses a lot of themes from the album, musically and lyrically,” shares vocalist Jake Beitel. “To me the song is a reflection on the last few years of my life and fighting a feeling of detachment from it. Wanting to let go of negativity in the past while [stubbornly] acknowledging it’s formed me into who I am now.”
