Already beloved in their homeland of Sweden, Stockholm’s Kerosene Kream closely resembles the beer-soaked garage rock of Amyl and the Sniffers and the snarling post-punk of Viagra Boys. Before they take over the US, though, the band is kicking off a European tour to showcase their raucous live show today as they simultaneously reveal a new single called “Bulbous Swelling”—the first recording they’ve shared through Stockholm-based indie label PNKSLM Recordings.

The first of a promised series of singles that will presumably precede a full LP in the not-too-distant future, “Bulbous Swelling” is the perfect introduction to the band’s chaotic stage presence as the punky instrumental and chanted vocals paint a pretty vivid picture of a sweaty circle pit. Meanwhile, the sci-fi lyricism addresses an increasingly believable dystopian view of how our collective future will unfold. “[‘Bulbous Swelling’ is a] song about the future of humans,” the band ominously shares. “Chips in our brains, disposal of our bodies.”
