IDLES Grace Video

IDLES have shared the official music video for the single “Grace” ahead of their fifth studio album TANGK, which is set to arrive on Friday. The concept for the video supposedly came to IDLES frontman Joe Talbot in a dream, but unless we’re given access to that man’s dream journal it’s impossible to confirm the validity of this claim.

The visual is a recreation of Coldplay’s “Yellow” video, but with deepfake AI tech used to give the impression that circa-2000 Chris Martin is instead singing “Grace.” It is, to put it mildly, wild. Joe spoke to Chris about the idea shortly after his dream, and the Coldplay frontman reportedly gave his blessing to execute the idea, and also helped train the AI to make his vocal performance look more realistic.
