Hana Vu has announced that her new album Romanticism will be released on May 3 via the oft-stellar Ghostly International. The announcement of her sophomore LP is accompanied by a new single called “Care,” which features an acoustic guitar intro before cavernous drums and a dancing bassline accent Vu’s powerful voice. “I wrote this song while staring out the window wondering if everyone considered things as much or more or less than I do,” Vu shared. “Also ruminating on whether or not it mattered. Thoughts and feelings might be an eternally individual experience.”
The follow-up to her 2021 debut album, Public Storage, Romanticism was co-produced by Jackson Phillips. Vu also shared some thoughts on the full project: “I’m just trying to convey my perspective as boldly as possible. To succinctly crystallize how it feels to be young, but also to be deeply sad.” Perhaps not an album for your cheeriest days.
