The Daydream Library Series is a record label founded back in 2018 by Thurston Moore when the former Sonic Youth frontman moved to London and happened upon the feminist Afro-punk trio Big Joanie. The label has only picked up steam after putting out that band’s Sistahs as its inaugural release, in addition to some of Moore’s own recordings.

Also among DLS’s young roster of talent is actor/model Devon Ross’ debut EP Oxford Gardens, which arrives today. While you may recognize Ross from HBO and A24’s recent Irma Vep revamp, here Ross proves her chops as a guitarist and vocalist channeling a similar grungy sound to Sonic Youth circa Rather Ripped

As a brief intro to Ross-the-musician, who better than Moore himself to grill the songwriter about her early connection to music, among other topics. Check out their chat below, and revisit his interview with Big Joanie’s Estella Adeyeri here.
