yeule has offered up a cover of the one Broken Social Scene song your early-40s cousin might know, “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl.” The future-pop musician gives the song a digital edge, speeding up the melody and twisting it into their own cyberspace while still keeping the original’s emotional tenets intact.
A glimpse of the track was featured in the recently released trailer for I Saw the TV Glow, and the entire soundtrack will be arriving May 10 via A24. Other artists featured include L’Rain, Caroline Polachek, Bartees Strange, Florist, and The Weather Station, as well as a new song from Sloppy Jane featuring Phoebe Bridgers—both of whom appear in the film. The film is supposedly not a Phil Elverum biopic, despite its title.
