The duo’s new self-titled album will arrive on June 28 via In the Red Records.

As they continue to celebrate their 45th anniversary as a band, Redd Kross have shared “Born Innocent,” the second song from their sprawling 18-track self-titled double-album, which is set to be released on June 28 via In the Red Records. The single, which shares its name with the band’s 1982 debut, serves as the album closer for Redd Kross.

The duo, consisting of brothers Jeff and Steven McDonald, suggest the track is a theme song of sorts for the band. The song is a ramshackle and scratchy uptempo number which outlines their origin story: “When I was 15 / I hated school, knew what I wanted to do,” Jeff sings (spoiler: that thing he wanted to do was make music).

“Born Innocent” appears in the closing credits of the new documentary Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story, directed by Andrew Reich, who’s also directed the video that accompanies the single’s release. Check out that video below, and pre-order Redd Kross here.
