Old friends Kim Gordon and J Mascis are back together again (Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. went together like a Jazzmaster and a Marshall stack), and have joined forces for a one-off track on the third installment of the CONS EP—a Converse-commissioned series featuring various artist collaborations.
For Gordon and Mascis, the result is “Slow Boy,” a raw and dirty three-minute high-wire act of the artists’ trademark vocal and guitar work, respectively. It’s just a tad bit different from the last time Mascis teamed up with a Sonic Youth member for a compilation track.
