Someone get Toro y Moi a calendar because he surely doesn’t know what day it is! Ahead of his new album, Hole Erth, the pop auteur has shared “Tuesday,” an ode to the day in which the club is going up. FWIW, it’s Wednesday today. Silly, silly Toro. The track churns along with distorted bass and a surprisingly emo-leaning vocal from the artist also known as Chaz Bear. He yearns for something new as he sings: “Give me some complexity / Unpredictability / Changing subjects rapidly / Repetition gets to me.” Sounds like someone knows what Tuesday is all about.
“I hope you enjoy this suburban anthem,” Bear shared regarding the track. “[G]rowing up, the often-controversial-line between mainstream and underground artists was so defined but now that line has become so blurred I can’t even tell what I like anymore…sometimes.”
