Waxahatchee has kept the promo train running for her recently released album Tigers Blood, sharing a video for the title track. The clip is a fun and at times existentially yearning behind-the-scenes look at the making of the song at Sonic Ranch in Texas with producer Brad Cook.
Before the song kicks off, Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield ruminates on songwriting and recording. “The writing of the record is the thrill ride for me,” she shares. “It’s the scary part. As a songwriter I think you always feel on the brink of your last good idea. I always get a little depressed in the studio, and anxious. There are these big highs, of this is so surreal, we’re making this thing I’m so excited about and everything is falling into place. And then there’s these inexplicable lows of fear and anxiety and sadness that the work that gives me life and my sense of purpose is done for now.”
