jasmine.4.t, the project of Jasmine Cruickshank, has become the first UK-based artist to sign with Phoebe Bridgers’ Saddest Factory Records. To celebrate the news, Cruickshank has shared a new single, “Skin on Skin,” which was produced by Bridgers alongside her two boygenius bandmates, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. The cut begins with delicately strummed guitar and jasmine’s emotive, floating voice. The song turns into an alt-pop anthem when drums and harmonies join the fold. 4.t sings of the highs, lows, and mundane in-betweens of transfeminine life.
“Being signed by Phoebe Bridgers is immediately going to open me up to a wider audience,” jasmine4.t reflected on the signing. “I take it seriously, just to be a visible trans woman role model in music, because there aren't that many, and there should be more.”
