Karen O and Danger Mouse have created an homage to that just-brushed clean feeling on new track “Super Breath,” an outtake from their collaborative Lux Prima era. The vintage-leaning cut coalesces around a simple interlocking bass and synth melody, which provides a nice backdrop for Karen’s instantly recognizable vocals to lead the way.
The single arrives alongside the news that a reissue of that 2019 album is set to be released on September 20. The new edition includes a 7-inch of “Super Breath,” which features a cover of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” (previously exclusive to Amazon) on the B-side, as well as a 16-page booklet which documents the “Encounter with Lux Prima” at Los Angeles’s Marciano Arts Foundation.
