Over the course of the summer, New Zealand–born and LA-based artist BAYNK has been teasing the follow-up to his house-tinged 2022 debut of glitchy electronic music, ADOLESCENCE. With SENESCENCE finally arriving on September 27, the anticipation has only grown since his July adopted-hometown show was rescheduled for September due to the fact that the stage production was evidently a little too ambitious to meet that deadline.

Now that we’re a month out from that new LA date, we’ve also gotten another teaser for BAYNK’s next chapter in the form of a video for his impossibly smooth new single “Grin.” Additionally, he gave the song (and the aforementioned stage production) a test run recently with a set of Australian dates taking the place of the original plans for LA. Ahead of that rescheduled September 20 show at The Wiltern, as well as a release-day show in NYC the following week at Terminal 5, check out BAYNK’s tour diary from his time overseas below. You can also find tickets for all of his upcoming dates here.

Nothing to say here, but on reflection I’m very happy with this upgraded sax strap as I can finally get it off my head without having to undo it or getting tangled.

The boiz. Jamming out. Fiddling with knobs. Can one ask for more?

The boiz 2.0. Wandering through Melbourne looking for a snack, most probably.

This crowd in Melbourne was insane. We love Melbourne. Good food, good people.

Brisbane getting messy. The lights were particularly good this night.

Rehearsing with Rutger. This is a moment when he comes ’round to play keys on “What Am I Going to Do with You.”

Jared in his element. Jared used to work at a toasted sandwich truck back in the day and gave this tuna melt from Nico’s a very high rating.

Manager Andrew joins the fray in Sydney and managed to secure us double the amount of LED wall two or three hours before we went on stage when I asked him if the wall could be bigger. That came in extremely clutch and made the show so much better, IMO.

I think I’m dancing to Ice Spice’s “Did It First” here.

Last day in Brisbane on a rooftop. Reviewing the live recording from the Sydney show and laughing at the mistakes we made.

Gallery view of the Sydney show. Less stage space than the other shows, but much bigger audience. A lot of fun.

Cheeky.
