At this point, nothing really comes as a surprise for a certified space alien like St. Vincent, but needless to say, her appearing on an EDM track in the middle of festival season was not something many were expecting. And yet here we are, with The Chemical Brothers stepping in to enlist Annie Clark for an appearance on their latest release—and first LP in five years—Born in the Echoes.
With additional promised appearances from Beck and Cate Le Bon (whoa!), the album will be out next month. We got a first taste with “Sometimes I Feel So Deserted” and the Michel Gondry-directed/Q-Tip-featuring video for “Go,” and now we have the St. Vincent-featuring single “Under Neon Lights,” a twinkling dance track that is just begging for a live rendition at one of The Chemical Brothers’ upcoming festival spots.
Just think of the outfits! Won’t somebody please think of the outfits!
