In an era filled with scream-along-in-the-car pop-punk, Jill Sullivan’s latest single as Chipped Nail Polish may stand out most for its subject matter: the other drivers we encounter in our cars who tend to make us scream. Fueled by a relatable sense of road rage, the Portland-based songwriter’s recently released track (aptly called “Road Rage”) plays with the trendy punk-goes-pop approach to deliver a one-two punch of level-headed reassurance (“All is fine / I’m not petty”) and cathartic screams.

Following the single’s release earlier this summer, Chipped Nail Polish is returning with a music video for the track starring a cherry-red Hybrid compact car and Sullivan in a very cool F1 jumpsuit. “This video was created with a mix of anger, love, rage, laughter, and friendship—no acting needed,” the songwriter shares of the clip produced and directed by Allison Barr. “I’m grateful for the chance to experience all these emotions and let them live outside my body in this project.”
